4 Ways to improve the lives of your employees
management skill set course
As a successful business owner, you can agree that building an empire requires diligence and passion. To be diligent, you must plan well, work hard and act smart- but what does it mean to use passion as its own driving force for success?
It’s probably quite a personal question- each person may have a set of different answers. But one thing is for sure: if you want your business to make a good lasting impression, you must guide your employees with care, for they will carry your company in future.
So, how can you help your employees feel the same burning passion that you have for your company’s success? The answer is simple: keep your employees happy. If they love their jobs, they will work extra hard to keep the company growing. Here are 4 ways that you can improve the happiness of your employees:
A little incentive goes as a long way
Having an employee of the month is a classic example of a good incentive, but a lot of companies seem to be doing it wrong. Doing employee of the month as an incentive doesn’t count if the winner’s only prize is having their picture up on a board for a few weeks. It’s important to really reward your employees for their good work. Ever thought about doing an employee of the year? Make the prize worthwhile and your employees will be impressing you left, right and centre.
Increase brain power
Have you ever heard of continual professional development? It refers to the process of tracking and documenting the skills, knowledge and experience that employees gain through formal and informal instruction, that goes beyond any initial training. It's a record of what they experience, learn and then apply. You can help your employees grow by enrolling them in a management skill set course, such as PSP Athlete.
We are all only human
Sometimes what happens, especially in bigger staff groups, is that people are associated with their job title only. This is not good for stress levels, or teamwork.
So- start hosting family functions, even if it’s just once a year. Another good idea is a bring your kids to work day. Anything family-orientated will humanise the way colleagues see each other, and add peace to the workplace.
Keep the good health going
An extra break a day keeps the doctor away. Giving your employees a bit of freedom and flexibility can go a long way! Consider implementing flexi hours wherever possible to give your employees a break from boring routine and to give them a few hours to attend important appointments. Another way to keep them in good health is to provide them with a good medical aid plan.
