Why You Should Get Certified In Project Management

project managementThe world is changing and it is no longer the most senior employee that is handed the role of project manager. More and more companies are looking to hire professional project managers, with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience, and they want you to be certified.

1. It adds meat to your CV.

Most companies have some sort of project management certification, such as Prince 2, as a pre-requisite for employment. Having this skill behind your name, even if it is not a pre-requisite, will certainly make the terror of job hunting a lot easier.

2. It will add pay to your check.

Certified project managers

Project managers that have completed an accredited course and are certified will get paid more than those who are not certified, therefore such a course will not only help you get a job, but it will help you get a well-paying job.

3. It assures clients that you are right for the job.

Clients of big companies may request that their project managers have some sort of accreditation, such as PRINCE2 or AgilePM. In a situation like that having this qualification will give you an advantage over other non-certified project managers, allowing you to handle key clients. Having a qualification, and having put time and effort into learning your trade and acquiring the certification shows clients t6hat you are serious about what you do.

4. It helps you manage your projects better (obviously).

While you may think you know how to manage projects, one can really never stop learning new things. A PRINCE2 course, for example, is aimed to help you improve communication and control at different levels within your team. An AgilePM course will clarify different management styles and provide tools needed for success.
